I was a "day hop" in 1952. The 3 prior years, I had ridden 2 busses and the street car to school. I was always carrying a load of books. On rainy days, I sought shelter in the Hoschields store at the corner of York Road and Frankfort Avenue. In my senior year, 1952, I was allowed to live on campus. Oh how happy I was to no longer have that long ride to and from, Shirley Peterson and I shared a room and our 3 suite mates lived next to the bathroom that all 5 of us shared. We were all women of course! We got along well! On December 15, 1951, my future husband called long distance from Seoul, South Korea to wish me a merry Christmas. We married in 1953. He's gone now, but the memories linger. I was a lucky lady.
