University Union, Room 309. Home of The Towerlight, Towson's campus and community new source. Chance are, if you needed to find me between the years of 2007 and 2010, I would be there, furiously typing away on a laptop, planning upcoming issues of the paper, designing the front pages of the paper twice a week, or bickering with editors about AP style. I was editor in chief of The Towerlight my last year at Towson, and Room 309 ended up being my home away from home. I loved The Towerlight office and every moment I spent in it. I loved the fights we had as an editorial board, the debates, the ridiculous inside jokes, writing commentaries for print, brainstorming ideas, productions nights twice a week, and the resulting 2am games of "Throw Hard" or "Hallway Soccer." I remember the energy of finding a juicy lead, or the pressure of a deadline. I will never forget the exhaustion after a 14 hour work day to get the paper to the press, and the resulting joy that came from seeing your hard work on the news racks the next morning. Magic happens in the University Union, Room 309. It happened years before me, and will happen years after, as long as the paper keeps printing. I am grateful to have been a part of the staff, and I will never be able to visit Towson as an alum without stopping by this room to be reminded of my true college experience.
